Meagan Gaskill is currently a junior attending Pacific Lutheran University. She is double majoring in Flute Performance (BM) and Math (BS) and is currently the teaching assistant for music theory courses. She is currently studying under Dr. Jennifer Rhyne. Ms. Gaskill has been teaching beginning flute playing for the past five years at a middle school in Colorado where she prepared flute players with no experience playing flute, and often little experience with music, to play in a band. She has also coached 8th graders and high school students at their school band programs. Ms. Gaskill has professional experience working with students of all ages. From working at a preschool to tutoring college students, she has developed the skills necessary to support, encourage and help students grow. As an active performer, Meagan is currently a member of the Slovvinden Flute Choir, a woodwind quintet and the University Symphony Orchestra. She performed in five different countries as the principal flute and piccolo soloist for the Colorado Ambassadors of Music Band. Ms. Gaskill can be seen performing with the Pacific Lutheran University Symphony Orchestra on their Christmas special that first aired in 2015, A Christmas Invitation. She has been in several masterclasses where she has had the opportunity to perform and observe incredible flutists and teachers such as Carol Wincenc, Jill Felber, Marianne Gedigian, Christina Jennings, Nancy Stagnitta and Lisa Garner Santa.
